Our Flooring/Rug Sales Specialist sell both flooring and rug products and services to customers using customer-orientated, needs-focused, selling principles while maintaining acceptable personal sales volumes through agreed upon goals and objectives.

Assist sales manager in the support of the sales plan. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Supports company standards, adheres to selling behaviors, supports a positive work climate, embraces training, education and development, and measures own success.

 Two years of previous flooring related experience is preferred, but not required.
 Basic computer knowledge & skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Follows progress of orders from start to finish, including checking out samples, setting up measurements, interpreting & reviewing measurements/estimate drawings with customers, working with project coordinator on installation.

Support company standards by meeting agreed upon goals, objections, and selling skills.

Demonstrates selling behaviors consistent with sales guidelines.

May occasionally travel for house calls and training purposes. Reliable transportation needed.

Completes invoices and processes payments for purchases.

Supports a positive work climate with management and co-workers across the organization.

Embraces personal training, education and development.

Provides feedback to peers, management, and the organization.

Performs various duties as directed by showroom manager.

Due to the nature of retail business, being available to work weekends is a requirement of this position.
Supervisory Duties and Responsibilities
Language Skills
Requires skills to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Need to be able to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Demonstrate the ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in written format.
Education and/or Experience
Must have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED); and two to four years related flooring experience and/or training.
Mathematical Skills
Mathematical aptitude to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Also requires skills to compute rate, ratio, and percentage and the ability to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability
Must be able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Need to be able to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Sales accuracy i.e., Writing invoice, Special orders, Discounting, Delivery Charges, etc.

Deal with all customers in a friendly and professional manner.

Greet all customers within the showroom.
Determine customer's needs using proper inquiries.
Present and demonstrates product in a professional manner.
Guide customers to related add-on sales.
Quote accurate prices and credit terms.
Estimate delivery dates to customer, based on knowledge of firm's own production and delivery schedules.
Lead customers into making buying decisions.
Competently provide answers regarding products to customer.
Recognize and overcome customer objections.
Compile list of prospective customers for future use as sales leads, based on information from previous contacts.
Call regular and prospective customers on a daily basis for the purpose of generating sales.
Send thank you letters to all regular and prospective customers.
Provide customers with after sale service.

Performs non-selling activities:

1. Price product for promotional events
2. Regular maintenance of price cards
3. Light dusting
4. Vacuuming
5. Maintain all areas of the showroom including personal workspace, all areas of customer contact including, traffic isles, closing stations, kids play area, front area, and all point of purchase

Support all training endeavors
Complete all training lessons on a timely manner as directed by sales manager
Attend and participates in all training and sales meetings, as scheduled
Recognize opportunity for self-improvement
Responsible for staying informed on all new and existing product lines
Responsible for staying informed of competitor information, and performing monthly competitor shops.
Mentor and coach peers as needed
Communicate new procedures and expectations to peers
Learn changes/new skills
Secret Shops will be conducted to ensure selling skills are demonstrated according to company structured selling methods.

Make daily evaluations and improvements to sales performance
Make daily evaluations and improvements to HOM guard production
Make daily evaluations and improvements to Leather and fabric protection production
Work with sales manager to improve performance
Submit accurate sales reports as directed by sales manager, in a timely organized manner
Keep organized records

Provide feedback to management and peers
Help conduct new staff interviews
Conduct self-performance appraisals
Conduct sales meeting as directed by sales manager
